Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) South Carolina state law requires that anyone whose driver’s license has been suspended as the result of a driving under the influence (DUI) conviction, administrative license revocation (ALR), or zero tolerance suspension to complete an ADSAP program before he or she can apply to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) for reinstatement of their driving privileges. Sumter Behavioral Health is certified to provide these services. ADSAP services are designed to work with offenders to reduce the number of crashes that result in death, injury, property damage, and the number of individuals that repeat being charged with DUI-related offenses.
What to Bring to Enroll
- 110-year driver’s record dated within 30 days of enrollment and the re-instatement requirement (Both obtained at the DMV).
- 2When required to enroll within (30) days, please provide the ADSAP/Education Treatment Referral. (This referral form will be provided by the court)*
- 3Identification Card (ex: picture id)
- 4Social Security Card or an item with social security number
- 5Minimum Payment of $500 (cash, money order, or debit/credit card).*
What to Expect
Clinical staff will orient you with the Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program. You will be provided with a packet of information with questions and answers about ADSAP and tips to successfully complete the program. Administrative staff will then discuss several forms that address policies, procedures, and financial responsibilities with you. A clinical counselor will then conduct an assessment to determine the focus of services and the level of care that will best meet your needs.
